It’s a neat thing to have your son appear in a Super Bowl commercial. It’s even neater if it receives national acclaim as one of the best of the day. The Coca-Cola ad “Going All the Way” finished No. 9 in Super Sunday’s annual “Ad Meter” survey gauging the most favorable audience reaction. (Tops was the Budweiser “Puppy Love” ad about the puppy/Clydesdale friendship, and last among the nearly 60 commercials was the Bud Light “Cool Twist” ad.) Filmed in Ashwaubenon, the Coke spot was about an unlikely kid who becomes a hero and runs for a touchdown and all the way to Lambeau Field. Although the commercial’s star was a paid professional from outside the area, local kids were hired as one-day extras for the football game scene. We told you the other day about staff member Holly Keener of the Provost’s Office, and how proud she was that her son, Kaleb, was among those recruited to perform. Among the locals, Kaleb was assigned a plum role and the only lines — “don’t screw this up again, Adrian” in the huddle and “All the way, Adrian!” after a fumble recovery.
