Aldrete uses sabbatical to publish a new 24-lecture video course
Prof. Greg Aldrete recently published a new 24-lecture video course, The Rise of Rome, made with The Great Courses/The Teaching Company (the fourth course he has produced with the company). They are available as CD’s, DVD’s or can be streamed online. Read more about the course. Aldrete is using his current sabbatical year to write and revise the Roman History course he teaches at UW-Green Bay. The Rise of Rome is focused on the Roman Republic and Aldrete is writing the sequel which will focus on the Roman Empire. He will travel this summer to studios in Virginia to record. You can see a course description and a video of Aldrete introducing the course. The lectures tell the captivating story of Rome’s astonishing rise, from the monarchy of the eighth century B.C.E. to the collapse of the republic and ending just before its rebirth into an empire.
