Terrific game by Sykes powers Phoenix to 8th straight win
Visiting UW-Green Bay (13-3, 3-0 HL) needed overtime and a career-high 34 points from electric point guard Kiefer Sykes to beat UW-Milwaukee 93-86 in Horizon League action Sunday afternoon. Green Bay has won eight-straight games for the first time since a nine-game winning streak in 2003-04. The Phoenix came from seven points down with 3:39 to play to force OT. A record fifth player-of-the-week: It doesn’t mean he’s the best ever in Horizon League history, but it does mean, this year, that few in the conference are approaching the sort of performances that Kiefer Sykes is making routine for UW-Green Bay.
