UW-Green Bay mourns passing of Carol A. Bush
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Carol A. Bush, a remarkable community visionary and philanthropist who generously supported children, women and education throughout Northeast Wisconsin for decades.
Along with her husband, the late Robert “Bob” Bush, Carol was also a dear friend and a strong advocate for the University of Wisconsin-Green Bay since the university’s doors first opened. Her early support brought credibility to the newly established university. The importance of that endorsement cannot be overstated; she saw the value of connecting the University with the community for the benefit of both. An avid fan of all sports, she especially loved the leadership and skill building opportunities that women’s basketball provided. The women’s basketball court at the Kress Events Center is aptly named “Carol’s Court” in honor of Carol’s lifelong dedication to the university and the women’s basketball team.
Carol was proud of UW-Green Bay and we will miss her passion, generosity of spirit and love of this university. Our sincerest condolences are with her family.
A Memorial Service will be held on Sunday, February 12, at 1pm in Old St. Joseph Church, 123 Grant St, De Pere, WI (on St. Norbert College campus). A celebration of Carol’s life immediately following will be held at the Bemis Center until 5pm. In lieu of flowers, memorials in honor of Carol may be made to the Carol and Bob Bush Legacy Fund at Encompass Early Education & Care, P.O. Box 1627, Green Bay, WI 54305.
