Habitat update: UW-Green Bay students start build work

Tuesday (Jan. 3) was the first official build day for a group of 40-plus UW-Green Bay students who are spending their winter break building Habitat for Humanity homes in Slidell, La. They were up and out early Tuesday, splitting into four crews for different tasks — roofing and siding, priming and painting among them — at the build site, reports Dean of Enrollment Services Mike Stearney, who is blogging about the trip. The students are working hard and quickly bonding with one another, Stearney says. They capped their first day of hard work Tuesday with a massive taco feast.
