Gerds looks at Oak Ridge Boys memoir, memories of the Weidner

Wearegreenbay.com critic-at-large Warren Gerds offers a look inside a memoir from Oak Ridge Boys member Richard Sterban, ahead of the band’s Sunday (Dec. 22) shows at the Weidner Center. Gerds’ Wednesday (Dec. 18) column includes an anecdote about the first time Oak Ridge Boys tenor Joe Bonsall saw the Weidner’s Cofrin Family Hall, which conjured positive images of opera. “Bonsall said he liked singing in quality theaters,” Gerds writes, “(amid a crazy-quilt array of venues traveling groups face).” The Oak Ridge Boys’ shows are at 3 p.m. and 7 p.m. Sunday.
