Some special guests for Wednesday’s well-attended Kenny Rogers show at the Weidner Center were showcased in the Dec. 12 Green Bay Press-Gazette, as they prepared to take the stage with The Gambler himself. Students from Green Bay’s Chappell Elementary School and Southwest High School rehearsed to join Rogers on stage during parts of the Kenny Rogers’ Christmas and Hits show, singing six songs during the holiday portion of the concert. Reporter Patti Zarling talked to third-grade soloist Jevonte Brown, who said he wasn’t nervous about his part — the singing, that is. “I just hope the spotlight is not too bright that it hurts my eyes,” Brown said.
