College affordability? Still (and always) a concern, but nothing new, yet

The idea that the stock market meltdown and uncertain economy have students and parents worried is getting plenty of attention, nationally. Locally, financial aid officials here and at nearby colleges haven’t seen an increase in the number of students with financial aid-related questions or troubles. But they’re keeping an eye out. “Students always come to us, and parents always come to us,” Ron Ronnenberg, UW-Green Bay director of financial aid told the Press-Gazette, “because that’s what we do, talk about how to finance education. … Is it any more pronounced now than what it was last year, or six months ago?
