In advance of showdown, Badgers’ coach salutes Phoenix success

Ahead of Tuesday’s (Nov. 24) game against the UW-Green Bay women’s basketball team, UW-Madison coach Lisa Stone was asked about the 32 consecutive winning seasons posted by Phoenix teams:

“…They’ve had great players. They’ve had great coaches. They recruit system kids, players that really fit their system. They’ve dominated their league since it existed, and it goes way back to Carol Hammerle all the way through. It really does. There’s been some great, great coaches and coaches that have been there a long time. Certainly (former Green Bay head coach) Kevin (Borseth) and Matt (Bollant) have just continued the legacy there. They’ve really done very, very well in their conference, and they’ve played some tough teams out of conference as well.”
