Wild Rice seeding underway in Green Bay waters near Marinette | WLUK

A restoration project to plant wild rice in the waters of Green Bay is underway and UW-Green Bay’s Research Specialist Amy Carrozzino-Lyon (NAS) is leading the effort. As crews took to their boats Monday morning, near Red Arrow Park in Marinette, the high lake levels are impacting this year’s efforts. At a place called Seagull Bar State Natural Area, wildlife workers cruise the shallows looking for prime places to plant wild rice.
