Political science prof., major offer take for story on sagging approval rates
Faculty member David Helpap and student government leader Heba Mohammad offered their take Friday (Nov. 1) for a WFRV, Channel 5 story on President Obama’s recent approval ratings dip. “It’s just been kind of one thing or another that the president has had to deal with,” Helpap said, pointing to the flawed implementation of the Affordable Care Act as one major factor. “Since this is such a fundamental change to the way we do healthcare in this country, I think most people did expect a certain level of problems — but this has exceeded their expectations.” Mohammad, president of the Student Government Association and a political science major, said her classmates are very divided on the Obamacare issue.
