In the media: Rohan talks grant program changes with local TV news

Local media on Wednesday (Nov. 2) were reporting on a proposal to eliminate race as a factor in the Talent Incentive Program, which offers grants to low-income college students. The state Assembly gave the move preliminary approval early Wednesday after it was introduced late Tuesday in what turned out to be all-night legislative session. Closer to home, UW-Green Bay Financial Aid Director Jim Rohan said the move is unlikely to change anything at UW-Green Bay — neither white nor minority students have been excluded from receiving TIP grants because of race, Rohan said.
