Press-Gazette features artist, UW-Green Bay alumna Vazquez

A May 2011 UW-Green Bay alumna had her art and story featured in Saturday’s  (Oct. 29) installment of the Green Bay Press-Gazette’s ‘Work Space’ series. Maura Vazquez paints at the Neville Museum of Brown County, in a studio space that allows the public to observe and ask questions. She’s also an artist in residence at The ARTgarage, where she is preparing a November exhibition, the story said. Vazquez’s work has been featured in UW-Green Bay’s annual academic excellence symposium and other venues, and she has received other accolades and awards. In March, Vazquez was recognized as a 2011 recipient of the UW System Outstanding Women of Color in Education Award. She describes her UW-Green Bay art experience as “life changing.” Story and photo gallery.
