In the media: High expectations for Phoenix b-ball
There are great expectations for the UW-Green Bay Phoenix basketball teams this season, as the Horizon League preseason poll released Monday puts the Phoenix women in first — and decidedly so. The UW-Green Bay women’s team received 25 of 27 first-place votes, which are tallied from league coaches, sports information directors and media members, the Green Bay Press-Gazette reported Monday (Oct. 8). Senior guard Adrian Ritchie was named to the preseason all-league first time, while senior forward Lydia Bauer was named to the second-team list. Meanwhile, the men’s team also is expected to do well, picked to place third in the preseason poll after finishing tied for sixth and seventh in the league during the past two seasons. Junior center Alec Brown was named to the preseason first team, with sophomore guard Keifer Sykes being named to the second team. Full stories:
