Sergio a big hit; alumnus King is happy to help

The world’s fifth-ranked golfer Sergio Garcia, appeared Sept. 8 at Oneida Golf and Country Club and raised about $50,000 for the Phoenix Fund, the fundraising arm for UW-Green Bay athletics. Garcia provided a demonstration and golfed with 10 people who paid $5,000 each to play with a pro. Mark King, a UW-Green Bay graduate, a member of the Phoenix athletic hall of fame and the president/CEO of TaylorMade-adidas Golf, arranged the event. “UWGB was great to me, and it’s just nice to be able to give something back,” King said. “I’ve had a lot of success, and a lot of it started when I was at UWGB.” Read a recap at: http://www.greenbaypressgazette.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20080909/GPG0203/809090536/1225/GPG02
