WBAY, Channel 2 was on campus last week for a story on UW-Green Bay’s new License Plate Recognition system, which is making parking enforcement on campus more efficient as the new school year begins. As we’ve told you here before, the technology enables officers to quickly scan license plates of vehicles on campus, determining who doesn’t have a permit and whether there are any cars on campus that shouldn’t be. The unique new system also has eliminated long lines at the Bursar’s Office, Police Chief Tom Kujawa told WBAY reporter Michelle Clemens. “I don’t know of any other schools that are doing what we do,” Kujawa said. “The software systems that we use are all home built.” Check out the full story.
