Rare 1923 Green Bay Packers stock certificate up for auction

There are thousands of Green Bay Packers fans who proudly own a certificate proving they are a shareholder in the only publicly owned franchise in professional sports. Most of those certificates aren’t worth much more than the paper on which they’re printed.

That is, unless it’s one from the team’s first public offering in 1923 that helped save the cash-strapped franchise. UW-Green Bay alumnus Chris Nerat ’01 (Communication Processes) provides expertise.
