Former Phoenix now a miner

Some old-timers will remember former UW-Green Bay student Dan Theys, who stood tall on campus in the early 1980s. (A Dave Buss recruit, Theys was nearly 7-feet tall.) He stayed close to home in his choice of a college, and a career afterward, electing to take over the family trucking and sand-gravel-pit business in Kewaunee County. In one of the Press-Gazette’s periodic career-primer features, they note that the federal government considers Theys and his colleagues as much a miner as anyone this side of West Virginia.
