Editorial says time is right for serious talk

The editorial page of the Green Bay Press-Gazette calls it an “ambitious but admirable goal” — the idea of growing the number of UW System graduates by at least 80,000 over the next decade or so — and worthy of thoughtful consideration despite tough economic times. The piece acknowledges the UW’s shrinking slice of state appropriations, once over 10 percent but now significantly lower, and the low baccalaureate-completion rates for Wisconsin residents.
