Previewing tonight’s news: TV-11 at Camp Lloyd

Camp Lloyd, the innovative UW-Green Bay summer camp designed to help children cope with the loss of a loved one, is in session this week. Begun in 2006 by UW-Green Bay Human Development Prof. Illene Cupit, Camp Lloyd offers children ages 7-14 the chance to engage in traditional summer camp activities such as games, swimming and crafts, while also providing specialized activities and trained staff to help them cope with their grief. They also engage with counselor “buddies,” primarily UW-Green Bay psychology and Human Development students who gain from the learning experience. TV-11’s Bill Miston is working on this story and will have a full report on FOX 11 News at Five. See preview.
