Calling all Teens—and specifically Teen comic book fans! Registration for Manitowoc Public Library’s Teen Superhero Drawing Classes is now open!What is the Teen Superhero Drawing Class, you ask? They are classes designed to take teens through a step by step guide to drawing comic book style superhero characters. The Teen Superhero Drawing Classes are all a part of Manitowoc Public Library’s “Comic Book Day, which takes place on Saturday, May 7.MPL’s “Comic Book Day” is a part of a larger national event called, “Free Comic Book Day”.  Free Comic Book Day was created in 2002 as a way to celebrate and promote this original American Art Form. During the day, participating organizations can give away comic books, as well as host other comic book and graphic novel related programs.

…Working alongside art and graphic design students from UW-Green Bay and UW-Eau Claire, teens will learn how to draw their favorite superhero or create their own original design! During these hour-long sessions convening in MPL’s Idea Box Makerspace, teens will be introduced to some basic drawing techniques and work with the Sketchbook app to create dynamic superhero artwork.
