Theatre on Bay to freshen up with renovation

MARINETTE—Theatre on the Bay’s worn seats are slated to be replaced later this year in a renovation Marinette County and the University of Wisconsin Green Bay Foundation are funding together.

The musical comedy “Company” opened Thursday at the Herbert L. Williams Theatre, 750 W. Bay Shore St., and continues with performances at 7 p.m. Friday and Saturday and at 2 p.m. Sunday, said Cindy Bailey, campus executive officer. The show is a remake of the 1973 production written by George Furth with music and lyrics by Stephen Sondheim.

“The renovation will be happening later. We’re really looking forward to that and the new fresh face of the theater,” Bailey said. “I think coming out of these strange couple of years of COVID, where people haven’t had much interaction, what a great way to get them into it, to engage with one another and find their voice,” she said.
