UW-Green Bay Prof. Jon Shelton was part of an hour-log interview with American Federation of Teachers president Randi Weingarten about the state of labor and public education on Wisconsin Public Radio.  The AFT is one of the nation’s largest unions, with 1.7 million members.

Public approval of labor unions is at its highest since the 1960s and petitions for workplace unions spiked in 2022. But the percentage of workers with collectively bargained contracts has actually fallen. We find out why from two national and state leaders of the American Federation of Teachers.
