‘A new command’ for UW-Madison

UW-Madison Chancellor Biddy Martin makes the case for granting the state’s flagship with public authority status in a commentary in the Chronicle for Higher Education. Martin writes, “If Madison has to absorb deep cuts while remaining constrained by layers of red tape and policies designed for a completely different kind of institution, its outstanding faculty, staff and students will begin to look elsewhere. The state and the world will be poorer for it.” Martin also says UW-Madison is committed to maintaining its close ties with the other UW schools. Click here for the full commentary.
