Hays: Green Bay closes in on another title

Leading by two points with just 21 seconds remaining, freshman Mehryn Kraker hit a big three from the corner to help ice a big road win for the Phoenix, 53-49 at Valparaiso on Saturday night. Green Bay stays in first with two games left, at 11-3 in the conference and 18-8 overall. The late-season Phoenix surge prompted a column mention by lead ESPN.com reporter Graham Hays, who wrote “This was the season the rest of the Horizon League was supposed to get even.
