Press-Gazette: Phoenix women gain momentum heading into tourney

The No. 11 Phoenix could use games at Loyola today (Thursday) and Illinois-Chicago on Saturday (March 3) to gain momentum heading into next week’s Horizon League tournament, reports Scott Venci — and having forward Sarah Eichler back in the starting lineup is a plus. “I think we are getting our confidence back,” Phoenix coach Matt Bollant said. “I think getting Sarah back healthy has helped us, and we are recovered after the loss (to Detroit, the team’s only loss of the season). We are headed in the right direction.” Full story.
