P-G: Despite recession, scholarship/professorship funding moves forward

There’s no disputing that the recession has an impact upon endowments, and on the Thursday (Feb. 4) front page of the Green Bay Press-Gazette — right there under the big photograph of a student working on an experiment in one of Prof. Michal Zorn’s classes — is an article offering a look at the topic at the local and national level. Dan Spielmann, UW-Green Bay Interim Assistant Chancellor for University Advancement, said he is pleased endowment funds have reached $17 million despite a challenging environment, and he is hopeful of more growth ahead.
