New York Times spotlights UW-Green Bay women’s basketball

Still perfect at 19-0, the UW-Green Bay women’s basketball team continues to draw attention here and across the country. Most recently, it was The New York Times taking notice, with a great story published Sunday (Jan. 29). The piece frames the women’s success in familiar and perhaps unsurprising terms — noting, for instance, “The Packers, it seems, are not the only title team in Titletown” — but keeps the bulk of the focus on the Phoenix and its success. Green Bay fans may note an error in the story — “Carol’s court” at the Kress Center is named for University supporter Carol Bush, not former coach Carol Hammerle — but will otherwise relish the read.
