Chancellor reveals furlough closing dates

In accordance with a directive from Gov. Doyle requiring unpaid furlough days of all state employees, the UW System has submitted to the Office of State Employment Relations a plan to implement the furlough requirement.  The plan establishes that all UW System campuses will be closed the day after Thanksgiving, and also requires each campus to set three additional closings. Chancellor Thomas Harden announced today (July 10) that on the following days UW-Green Bay will be closed:
•  Nov. 27, 2009
•  Dec. 28
•  Jan. 15, 2010
•  May 28
The dates were chosen to minimize disruption and inconvenience for students, officials said. Remaining required furlough days (for most state workers, four other days, for a total of eight) will be scheduled by individual employees in consultation with their supervisors.
