A Palin presidential run? Prof. Kaye thinks so
Prof. Harvey Kaye of Social Change and Development has been a frequent contributor of late to prominent political and public policy blogs. His latest column, “Palin Seeks FDR’s Endorsement,” was published this week in newdeal 2.0, the online publication of the Franklin and Eleanor Roosevelt Institute, which Kaye serves as a “Braintruster.” Kaye reviewed Sarah Palin’s new book, America by Heart, and found it revealing that the former Alaska governor covered familiar conservative ground but refrained from criticizing FDR and the New Deal directly. In fact, Palin praised Roosevelt (for his wartime professions of religious faith) and also expressed admiration for other progressives on selected issues. This is evidence, Kaye believes, that she is trying to moderate her image and appeal to a wider audience. Read more.
