Faculty note: Henze publication

A newly published hardcover text The Cambridge Companion to Shakespeare and Contemporary Dramatists includes a chapter contributed by Prof. Catherine Henze, Humanistic Studies. The book addresses what its editor describes as a popular misconception — that Shakespeare worked in relative isolation –- when in fact the English stage traces an impressive body of drama to that era, from a great many playwrights. Henze’s chapter is titled “Francis Beaumont and John Fletcher’s Tragicomedy as Musical Melodrama.” Learn more.
