Two earn UW System Institute on Race/Ethnicity grants

The UW System Institute on Race and Ethnicity has announced the awarding of two support grants for FY 2008-2009 to individuals at UW-Green Bay.

• Prof. Kim Nielsen, Social Change and Development, received a grant to host the November visit of author and professor Kimberly Phillips for a “Waging War, Waging Peace” event. Phillips will address issues related to African Americans and the military.

• Prof. Pao Lor of the Education faculty received a Faculty Diversity Research Award to fund his project, “Hmong Teachers’ Perspectives and Practice in Wisconsin.”
