Prof. David Coury (Humanities, German, and Global Studies) presented a paper entitled “AfD, Pegida and Cultural Nationalism” as part of a three-day workshop on transdisciplinary approaches to right-wing populism at the German Studies Association Conference in Pittsburgh. Coury is also part of an international research group based at the University of Toronto, which is studying populism and Islamophobia in Eastern Germany. The group will present its work this January at a symposium at the Colegio de Mexico in Mexico City.
