Nate Bacheler joined the Natural and Applied Sciences faculty at UW-Green Bay last month as a biology and fisheries specialist. Word has been received that North Carolina State University has honored him with its 2009 Graduate School Dissertation Award for the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences. The award recognizes “outstanding scholarly research that has a positive impact on both the North Carolina economy and the quality of life for all its citizens.” Bacheler’s dissertation dealt with the relative abundance of red drum, an important game and food fish along the mid-Atlantic coast.
