In the news: Morgan talks Syria with WFRV, Channel 5

Assistant Prof. Eric Morgan, Democracy and Justice Studies, offered some context for the discussion on Syria Tuesday (Sept. 3), talking to WFRV, Channel 5 for a story that localized the debate on intervening there. In making his case for action, President Obama has to convince not just Congress, but also the American people, Morgan said. “Essential human rights are being violated. People are being targeted with these deadly weapons by their government,” he said. “That gives a moral imperative. … We’re talking about trying to destroy a threat to make the Assad regime less capable of using chemical weapons against its open people.” Full story.
