Meders share story of raising ‘medically fragile child’
Margaret Meder and her husband, Randy Meder, an associate professor of music at UW-Green Bay, have shared their inspirational personal story of raising a child with special medical needs in a new book. Margaret Meder is primary author of Uncommon Beauty — Crisis Parenting from Day One, now available through Amazon and also the book’s publisher, Beaver’s Pond Press. The book shares the Meders’ story through journal entries, and also combines guidance for other parents of children with special medical needs including “specific, pragmatic strategies for everything from crossing emotional hurdles to handling financial realities; from navigating hospitals to becoming your child’s best advocate; from accepting the help of others to finding an inner strength.” Margaret Meder was featured Aug. 2 on Joy Cardin’s show on Wisconsin Public Radio.
