Prof. Gaurav Bansal (Frederick E. Baer Professor of Business & MIS/Statistics) was interviewed by the office of U.S. Congressman Scott Fitzgerald (WI 5th Congressional District) regarding cybersecurity concerns for small businesses. The discussion was in preparation for the July 20 House Small Business Committee hearing titled: “Strengthening the Cybersecurity Posture of America’s Small Business Community.” This hearing has been triggered in response to the July 2, 2021 Kaseya ransomware attack and the issues with small businesses communicating their threat intelligence to respective government entities for fear of liability or distrust in the government’s handling of sensitive data.
