UW-Green Bay Prof. and mezzosoprano Sarah Meredith (Music, Women and Gender Studies), spent three weeks in May 2019, traveling to Slovakia, Czech Republic, and Poland as part of her sabbatical project. She was invited to teach and present masterclasses on American vocal repertoire and English diction for singers at the following music academies: Akademia Jana Albrechta, Banska Stiavnica, Slovakia; Prague Musik Konservatoire, Prague, Czech Republic; and Akademia Muzyczna, Feliksa Nowowiejskiego and Bydgoszcz, Poland (UW-Green Bay has a newly established collaborative agreement with this music institution).

At the Academia in Bydgoszcz, Poland, there was also a public showing of “Women Who Dare,” a lecture recital presented by Prof. Meredith that was recorded by Wisconsin Public Television in 2016 at the Weidner Center. Meredith also set up plans for the upcoming UW-Green Bay Alumni Choir Tour she is planning for June 12-27, 2020 to Central Europe. She also made a connection with the Technical School of Engineering, Bydgoszcz, Poland, which is interested in future collaboration with UW-Green Bay’s Richard J. Resch School of Engineering.
