UW-Green Bay’s Christina Trombley offered an optimistic assessment of the local small business environment for a story in Sunday’s (June 24) Green Bay Press-Gazette. The UW-Green Bay Small Business Development Center, which Trombley directs, has seen an increase in small businesses looking to start and grow versus a year ago, when more business owners were concerned about making it at all. Still, business owners remain cautious as the U.S. economy heals and the global economy continues to struggle, Trombley said. “We’re seeing a lot more clients have customers coming back and are seeing business improve,” she said. “It’s not huge growth, not like anything we saw years ago, but it seems to be a little more hopeful for the future.” Full story.
