Karen Lacey, MS, RDN, CD; senior lecturer emerita and former Director of Dietetics at UW-Green Bay, was recognized as a 50-year member of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics, at the annual conference of the Wisconsin Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics held in Wisconsin Dells, April 12 and 13. Lacy has been and continues to be very active with the Academy both at the state and national level. She has served on many boards and committees throughout her career; most notably as the chair of the work group that developed the standardized Nutrition Care Process. She currently serves as chair of the Competency Assurance Panel that oversees the continuing educational requirements for registered dietitians and registered dietetic technicians. Lacy will be attending the national meeting in Washington D.C. in October where she will also be recognized for her service.
