Former UW-Green Bay cross-country standout Callie Bartel (Human Biology, Class of ’09) competed in Monday’s Boston Marathon and did her alma mater and current place of employment proud. Bartel finished in 3:13:03 — that’s a pace of a little over seven minutes per mile — to finish a highly respectable 442nd among the women’s finishers on a day when more than 30,000 runners in all crossed the line. Bartel is a Prevea assistant athletics trainer assigned to Phoenix Athletics.
