‘Heartbleed’ headaches: Kieper talks security risk with Fox 11

The “Heartbleed” computer bug has made big news recently, as websites scramble to fix the problem and individuals and businesses wonder if their information is safe. Fox 11 News turned Thursday (April 10) to UW-Green Bay Deputy Chief Information Officer David Kieper, who helped explain the issue and provide context. It’s a serious problem, Kieper said, but for many sites the vulnerability hasn’t necessarily meant anything’s been lost. He recommends not changing passwords until a website tells one to do so, because if the site hasn’t been fixed, information still could be at risk. Full story.
