Assistant Professor Alise Coen (Political Science, PEA) presented her research on “Refugees as Partisan Symbols: The Politicization of the Syrian Crisis in U.S. Elections” at the annual meeting of the Midwest Political Science Association in Chicago this past Saturday, April 5. She discussed how partisan identity narratives and political polarization in U.S. politics connect to U.S. refugee responsibility-sharing at the global level.
