Assistant Prof. David Helpap also was called upon for his expertise Thursday (March 7), when WFRV, Channel 5 interviewed him about President Obama’s recent bipartisan budget dinner. Wisconsin Sen. Ron Johnson was among those invited to dine with Obama Wednesday to discuss the sequester — an event Helpap says suggests cautious optimism on both sides of the political aisle. The dinner was about mending fences, Helpap said. “Putting his ideas out there, learning from Republican senators and really seeing what side they’re on and where they’re willing to give concessions,” he said.
