In the news: Dale weighs in on state of the state

Democracy and Justice Studies Prof. Tim Dale offered his take Wednesday (Jan. 25) on the unprecedented circumstances under which Gov. Scott Walker delivered his second State of the State address. What made the speech so unusual, of course, is that Walker delivered it while facing an active recall process, Dale told The Post-Crescent of Appleton. “For Walker, this is in essence a campaign speech, and Walker is using the State of the State address to justify the actions that he’s taken and provide evidence that they are working,” Dale said. “He’s making an argument why he should remain governor, which is unusual for a person … this early in a term.” Full story
