Soccer hires two new coaches, Brandao and Bonomo

Not yet mentioned in this space: UW-Green Bay Director of Athletics Mary Ellen Gillespie has announced the hiring of head coaches for the men’s and women’s soccer teams.

Kim Brandao, a top assistant at the State University of New York at Buffalo, is the new women’s coach. She has played professionally in Spain, Sweden and the United States and, as the daughter of parents of Portuguese heritage, been a key contributor to Portugal’s national team including experience in World Cup qualifying rounds. Brandao was a standout player and student at Rutgers, where she earned her bachelor’s in 2007. Read more.

On the men’s side, Jeremy Bonomo brings five years of coaching experience as an assistant at the top Division I level with Cincinnati and three years as a head coach with Division II Assumption College, near Boston. Bonomo graduated from Southern New Hampshire University with a bachelor’s in business in 2002 and an MBA in 2006. Read more.
