Big festival week for award-winner Riddle, Theatre and Dance

It’s a big week for Prof. Laura Riddle and the Theatre and Dance program, who will be heading to this year’s Kennedy Center American College Theatre Festival regional at UW-Milwaukee. Riddle will be honored Saturday (Jan. 10) with the Kennedy Center Gold Medallion, which recognizes individuals and organizations who have made extraordinary contributions to the teaching and production of theatre and who have dedicated time, artistry and enthusiasm to the annual theatre festival. The award presentation Saturday will cap a busy KCATF regional for UW-Green Bay, which will participate in numerous festival events. Seven cast members from the fall 2014 production of Spring Awakening will perform the musical’s opening number during a new event showcasing musical theatre scenes (only one school from each state in the region was selected for the showcase). Numerous individual students will participate in the festival’s Irene Ryan Acting Scholarship competition, and Associate Prof. Kaoime Malloy will present a workshop on stage makeup. Our news release has more on the event, as well as UW-Green Bay’s successful history at the regional theatre “playoffs.”
