Our campus is in full holiday mode these days, with Thanksgiving a memory and the end of the semester in sight. On Tuesday (Dec. 11), UW-Green Bay’s Symphonic Band and Wind Ensemble will play a family-friendly concert in the spirit of the season, presenting “Holiday in Europe” at 6:30 p.m. on the Weidner Center mainstage. The show starts a full hour earlier than most evening concerts, a change designed to be more convenient for families who want to enjoy the performance, said Director of Bands Kevin Collins. The first half of the concert will be devoted to the beloved Nutcracker Suite, by Peter Tchaikovsky, while the second half will feature works in the style of an Austrian New Year’s concert. If that’s not enough to entice you, remember that the event (which takes place immediately following the faculty/staff holiday reception) is free to all faculty and staff — just contact the Chancellor’s Office by Friday (Dec. 7) to RSVP.
