Save the date: Kwanzaa is Saturday, Dec. 7

UW-Green Bay will be hosting the local higher education community’s celebration of Kwanzaa from 3 to 5 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 7, in the Phoenix Room of the University Union. Kwanzaa is an African-American celebration based on the tradition of the African harvest festival, which emphasizes community and cultural pride. Enjoy music, dancing, food, and learn about this holiday’s origins, rites and symbols. There will be a free African-jewelry-making workshop at 2 p.m. in the 1965 Room. The program is presented in collaboration with Northeast Wisconsin Technical College and St. Norbert College.
