3-D glasses and Armstrong/Ride tribute at Wednesday’s concert

This just in: UW-Green Bay Music will present a Chorale and Wind Ensemble concert at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday (Oct. 17) at the Weidner Center. OK, that’s not new, but we draw your attention now to the fact the Wind Ensemble’s performance of the piece “Introduction to the Moon” will feature a nod to both the campus common theme (creativity) and the recent passing of two great space pioneers: first man on the moon Neil Armstrong and first American woman in space Sally Ride. The Wind Ensemble’s conductor, Prof. Kevin Collins, says the performance will include original improvised sections on both traditional band instruments and electronics … poetry and readings specially selected for the occasion … and 3d anaglyphic photographs — with 3D anaglyph glasses provided for the first 250 audience members. For background on the entire program and other details, see our previous post.
